This election was easy for me to decide. I run my own servers on the internet and I like being able to do as much with them as I can. I run web servers, email, DNS, IRC, forums, remailer, nymserver, streaming audio! torrent trackers! Oh My! Needless to say, the shit would hit the fan around here if my internet service provider started blocking me from doing what I do with my internet connection. Some ISP’s have already begun to do so.

Well, Obama was the only candidate on board with my concerns so he won my vote easily . Today I am feeling a bit reassured that I made the right decision. Obama started a new way for the government to keep in touch with us, change.gov. Within two days of the election Obama’s transition team laid out his science and technology agenda. I must admit, I am somewhat impressed. :)

At a speech at google headquarters Obama raised the issue.

gazelle.etree.org beta test

| August 14th, 2008

I have been working hard on gazelle.etree.org. If you are one of my readers and would like to help out by being on our beta team I would be more that happy to invite you. leave a comment.

Ok i thought this deserved mention here in the ole blog.

Back at the end of ski season the ski mountain took down the discussion forums they had running and just blew off the contributers.. So, I set up steamboatforums.com to fill the void.

It is now four months later and the local newspaper has made it more difficult to post on there website, asking for users to provide there identity (um, wtf?). Creating an even larger VOID.

Being a proud free speech loving American I was very excited recently when many of the local online fanatics chose to join up at steamboatforums.com and start sharing. If you read my crappy blog and haven’t hooked up at steamboatforums.com you may find it entertaining. Thanks for making it worth my time.. Locals kick ass, Keep it real!

Harley Dog

| July 24th, 2008

My best friend in the entire world passed away yesterday. Harley went on his own at 8:30 am in my arms. The “Harley Cam” page was the most popular page on my blog and I know my readers will miss him as much as I will.

I love the show Top Gear

Top Gear OOPs

Top Gear OOPs

Top Gear has had its fair share of mishaps. There was that time the Stig took the Koenigsegg CCX on an off-track excursion, and of course Hammond’s horrific crash in the jet dragster. The latest incident involves the one and only Nissan GT-R press car in Great Britain. Apparently it was involved in a fender bender in the Isle of Man after a photoshoot for Top Gear magazine. It seems that the GT-R wasn’t damaged too badly, despite the pic of its naked arse above, and the same exact car ran up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed only a couple days later.

So this is finally over. Today the District Attorney (one day before my trial) offered me another plea deal and this time I accepted it. What originally started as a DUI with reckless driving and then bumped up to felony eluding was bargained down to simple careless driving a $100 traffic ticket.

Arrested in front of my home without probable cause, my driving privileges put at risk for a year with the DMV for the refusal to blow, five days I was forced to attend the courthouse, six visits to my attorney. A traffic ticket. Cock Suckers!

From the paper:

The Free Summer Concert Series plans to present five big-time acts Friday evenings from June to August, including Leftover Salmon founder Drew Emmitt on June 27 and rebel rockers Michael Franti and Spearhead on July 18. The remaining three acts and exact dates for the series are up in the air.

Spearhead w00t!
I’ll be sharing the recordings via bittorrent here
