There is a time here in Steamboat Springs when mother nature lets you know its time to get down and do winter. Well that time is here. It catches most of us here by surprise, mainly because we attempt to manifest warmness until the ski mountain opens. This year the winter call has hit harder for some.

My friends in the Naused family started off the winter with a terrible car accident. Heathre Naused hit the first patch of ice this winter and busted herself up good breaking her pelvis and giving an early birth to the first Steamboat Local in the Naused family. Big mad props to them!

Ok, so your saying to yourself… Harry doesn’t look too happy there. Well, he had a hard time while all this was going on. Seems the State troopers and he had a misunderstanding and a Dukes of Hazzard style car chase through Oak Creek Canyon. The paper wrote all about it here.

My friend Lock who lives up the hill woke my ass up so freekin early the other day, he made my head spin.

On his drive back from Oak Creek the other morning his lugnuts came loose and my house is on the way to his so he stopped here. He needed a ride home, I needed some coffee. I was hoping to run out to his truck and tighten him up and send him on his way but when I saw Lock’s nuts I just got into my car with him and drove his spastic ass home.

When I got back to my place I re-observed the damage. He was in need of some parts, striped studs, beat up nuts and a seriously screwed wheel. Two trips to the auto parts store later parts were obtained & we fixed it at Monster Shed.

Yes, you heard that right the man without a plan is back, with Jesus on his side and all his fees paid for at the ole courthouse. This guy was one of Judge Jim’s first ever Defendants and likewise one of Rhys’s first ever judges. When he came back to Steamboat Springs from a 18 month hiatus I went to the courthouse to check up on him. You guessed it.. a warrant for his arrest in effect.. he owes the court $496 bucks for fees or shit like that. Anyway, he gets a job and and gets $800 in the first week. While he was drinking and smoking crack that evening I asked him for the cash so I could pay his fines and shit.. he gave it to me. So I walked proudly into the courtroom with this fucker and his fine was payed. judge Jim laughed and proclaimed him “Free to roam the streets again.” Welcome back Rhys!

“Geek Night” happens when somewhat non-geek friends of mine want to bust some ass on code and get down to business and make shit happen on the internet. I provide the nerdness, they get me wasted, and somehow things end up okay. Last night we managed to make this happen.
